Founded in 2014, The Tournament specializes in hosting high-stakes, open-to-all sporting events distributed across the world. The Tournament’s first property, The Basketball Tournament (TBT), has crowned eleven champions, awarded more than $15 million in prizes, and ushered in innovations such as the Elam Ending® and its signature postgame bracket celebration, since adopted by the NBA and NCAA respectively. Games air live on Fox Sports. In 2023, The Tournament launched The Soccer Tournament (TST), an open-application, million-dollar, winner-take-all world championship for 7v7 soccer. Dubbed Coachella for Soccer, the event features teams from across the world, including clubs from the English Premier League and Bundesliga, and a million dollar prize for men and million dollar prize for women. 


Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Fan Marketing Manager to lead our fan engagement and ticket sales initiatives for both TST (The Soccer Tournament) and TBT (The Basketball Tournament). This role requires a blend of creativity, project management, and data-driven strategy, aimed at growing our fanbase and driving ticket sales. The ideal candidate is a passionate, hands-on marketer who excels in building and managing strategic partnerships, crafting engaging content, and leveraging CRM tools to deepen fan connections. The company is based in Boston, but this is a remote position. 


Key Responsibilities:


Ticket Sales & Campaign Management

○ Develop and lead comprehensive marketing plans to drive ticket sales and enhance fan engagement for both TST and TBT events.

○ Collaborate with the content team to deliver high-impact, purposeful content across channels, ensuring it aligns with fan interests and promotes ticketing goals.

○ Apply a data-driven approach to optimize marketing channels and campaign messaging for maximum reach and impact.

○ Manage budget allocation for marketing channels, ensuring ROI targets are met.


Marketing Calendar & Toolkits

○ Oversee the development and management of the marketing calendar, aligning campaigns with key events, ticket sales milestones, and fan engagement opportunities.

○ Create and distribute marketing toolkits for TBT host partners and TST team entrants, providing resources that empower them to promote ticket sales.


Fan Engagement & Growth

○ Identify and implement innovative ways to engage fans and expand the fanbase. This includes exploring new fan touchpoints and refining based on feedback

○ Build partnerships with local soccer clubs, schools, community organizations, and influencers to increase event visibility and engage new fans.


Email & CRM Management

○ Design and execute email communication strategies that engage fans, nurture leads, and encourage ticket purchases, including cross-selling and up-selling.

○ Utilize CRM data to analyze fan engagement trends and behaviors, adjusting strategies to optimize fan retention and ticket sales.


Partnerships & External Relations:

○ Build and manage external partnerships to expand the fan funnel, reaching new audiences and enhancing ticket sales potential.

○ Act as the primary point of contact for key partnerships, ensuring alignment on campaign goals and shared ticketing objectives.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field.

● 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in sports, entertainment, or events.

● Proven track record in fan marketing, event marketing, or sports marketing, with experience selling tickets to events across multiple tiers, including VIP/Hospitality.

● Experience managing a marketing calendar, email campaigns, and CRM systems, with an ability to extract insights from data to inform strategy.

● Strong communication, project management, and analytical skills.

**While this is a fully remote role, candidates located in or near Boston, MA, are preferred due to regional partnerships and team collaboration opportunities.
