Founded in 2014, The Tournament specializes in hosting high-stakes, open-to-all sporting events distributed across the world. The Tournament’s first property, The Basketball Tournament (TBT), has crowned eleven champions, awarded more than $15 million in prizes, and ushered in innovations such as the Elam Ending® and its signature postgame bracket celebration, since adopted by the NBA and NCAA respectively. Games air live on Fox Sports. In 2023, The Tournament launched The Soccer Tournament (TST), an open-application, million-dollar, winner-take-all world championship for 7v7 soccer. Dubbed Coachella for Soccer, the event features teams from across the world, including clubs from the English Premier League and Bundesliga, and a million dollar prize for men and million dollar prize for women. 


Position Overview

We’re looking for a highly organized Marketing Planning & Campaign Manager to oversee the

development and execution of our marketing calendars and campaign plans for both TST (The

Soccer Tournament) and TBT (The Basketball Tournament). This role is all about thoughtful

planning and connecting the dots —building and managing the master calendar, ensuring

alignment across teams and channels, and driving multiple campaigns from plan to launch.

This person will serve as the central connector across owned, paid, earned, partner, and

grassroots channels to drive topline awareness and ticket sales for our events.


You’ll thrive in this role if you:

● Are an expert at building and managing internal and external managing marketing

calendars and campaign timelines

● Know how to structure multi-channel marketing plans that hit every touchpoint

● Can build easy to use toolkits and playbooks that help internal teams and external

partners execute efficiently and maximize opportunities

● Are skilled at organizing and running weekly marketing syncs and partner meetings to

keep everyone informed, aligned, and moving forward

● Are a strong communicator who can clearly articulate calendars, plans, gaps, and

opportunities to internal team and partners


Responsibilities include:

● Develop and lead comprehensive marketing plans to drive ticket sales and enhance fan

engagement for both TST and TBT events

● Owning the marketing master calendar and building calendars for individual campaigns

aligning with key events, ticket sales milestones, and fan engagement opportunities

● Managing campaign timelines and key decision points to keep all efforts on track

● Creating and sharing marketing toolkits with partners and collaborators

● Managing budget allocation for marketing channels, ensuring ROI targets are met

● Assessing the effectiveness of marketing plans and playbooks, and identifying

opportunities for improvement

● Organizing and leading weekly marketing team meetings and external partner check-ins

● Driving accountability across teams and helping make key decisions on the right

timelines

● Acting as the central point of coordination to keep everything organized and moving

forward


Having a technical marketing background in areas such as paid media, email/CRM, ticket

marketing or website management is a BONUS



Preferred Skills:

● A creative, proactive “doer” who brings fresh ideas and can execute them effectively.

● Excellent work ethic, strong problem-solving skills, and tenacity.

● Detail-oriented, self-motivated and results-focused.

● Experience with grassroots marketing, influencer marketing, community partnerships.

● A passion for fan engagement and the sports/events industry, with a deep understanding of what motivates fans and drives loyalty.


**While this is a fully remote role, candidates located in or near Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Cary, NC are preferred due to regional partnerships and team collaboration opportunities.
